MEET THE TEAM

Germaine is currently studying in Dunman High and like any other junior college student, she is currently half dead from all the work load (which probably explains her default poker face). Germaine has attended 5 MUNs and has chaired once thus far. She has an unhealthy obsession with American TV series like How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang theory and Gossip Girl and probably spends way too much time watching them. Germaine hopes that OPMUN 2016 will be enjoyable and memorable one for all delegates and looks forward to seeing all of them.

Xin Yi is a Year 5 student currently studying at Dunman High School. She has participated in 5 MUNs conferences since starting in 2014 as a delegate, and hopes to participate in many more in the years to come. In her free time, you can find her napping, writing quirky short stories or playing Vainglory. She also hopes to adopt 6 cats, and spends a lot of time reading  about felines and animal psychology.

Ethan is a Year 4 student trying to make his way through his final year in Raffles Institution in one piece. He takes a triple science course, although his true passion lies within the humanities, particularly in debate. Ethan has been involved in 6 MUN conferences within the past year, and is passionate about taking on the new challenge of planning for a MUN instead of participating as a delegate. Outside of MUN conferences, Ethan holds a black belt in taekwondo, often injuring himself in the process. At the same time, he loves watching TV and dozing off during lessons

Public Relations

Yuci participated in OPMUN last year and enjoys dabbling in debates and model united nation conferences. She is especially passionate about gender equality and women’s rights, international relations on the home front, as well maintaining social cohesion in our increasingly diverse and fragmentised societies. In her free time she writes, dances, and occasionally visits the bakery. She hopes that OPMUN’16 will be a fun and enriching experience for everyone.

Currently a Year 5 student in Raffles Instituition, Samira is navigating her way through the labrynth that is Junior College. In the mean time, she enjoys reading dry History books as well as Buzzfeed articles. Having participated in over 10 MUN conferences, Samira has gained insights into complex world issues and has simultaneously managed to hone her dancing skills at the D&Ds. She hopes OPMUN 2016 will be no different and looks forward to an enriching experience.

Secretary-General

A Year 3 student in Raffles Girls' School (Secondary), Chermaine has her hands and heart in everything. She loves medical science, yet shares that passion in the humanities field as well, as proven when she paired her Triple Science course with an unconventional higher intensity humanities subject. She is also passionate about volunteer work, and obviously has a knack for starting things, having founded a range of projects and programmes to fight for various causes. Having been involved in 7 MUN conferences thus far, Chermaine has been blessed with the experience of working with some of the best people, including the most successful MUN team in Singapore. Now, inspired and driven by her heart for service and to give back, Chermaine is honoured to serve as the Secretary-General of OPMUN, a MUN advocating for a cause far greater than ourselves.

Deputy Secretary-General

Oliver is a Y4 student in Raffles Institution, who is trying to cope with the fact that he will probably fail his O level Mother Tongue. In school, he looks forward to History lessons to break out of the monotony of life. Oliver has been involved in almost 10 MUN Conferences since he started in 2015, participating in a few prestigious ones such as The Hague International Model United Nations and Harvard Model Congress. Having also participated in OPMUN last year, Oliver believes that OPMUN is unique from the rest, and hopes that delegates will enjoy the new and improved edition of OPMUN.
