Dear Delegates, Teachers and Advisors, 
 
On behalf of the OnePeople.sg and OnePeople Model United Nations (OPMUN) 2016 Secretariat, it is my honour to invite you to the second edition of OPMUN, which will be held from 17th to 19th June 2016. 
 
Last year's inaugural OPMUN was the very first Model United Nations conference to have been laid in the Singapore context, touching on issues close to home, instead of in the international community. It was a resounding success in promoting an awareness of Singaporean politics and the spirit of racial and religious harmony amongst students in Singapore, through academically rigorous and fervent debate. 
 
Building upon the success of last year, OPMUN 2016 strives to once again inspire delegates to continue doing more and advocate for racial harmony. They will leave with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, knowing that they have proven themselves and resolved pertinent issues in our Singapore community. This year, OPMUN will feature greater involvement of stakeholders like academics and diplomats throughout the conference and its preparations, to bridge the gap between simulation and reality. To extend the wonderful experience to more delegates, we have opened OPMUN up and made it more accessible to more diverse groups of delegates from around the nation. We welcome delegates with no prior MUN experience from schools which have yet to explore the possibilities of a Model UN conference, to join us at OPMUN this year. OPMUN 2016 has decided to increase in scale and offer unique, never been seen committees such as the Futuristic Crisis Committee on the and the Literacy Assembly. Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that this year’s conference will feature a training programs for delegates provided by the esteemed United Nations Association of Singapore (UNAS). With these initiatives, delegates can expect to have a enriching and eye-opening experience, to meet new people, equip themselves with new skills engage in more exciting debates this year and lastly, see a wider range of perspectives represented in the conference. In addition to this academic experience, OPMUN 2016 will be a unique opportunity for delegates to build diplomatic skills and forge new friendships with like-minded young leaders from Singapore and around the region.
